Basic Info
Full Name Arabella Märta de Vaux-Forsberg (she/her) Aliases/Nickname(s) Bella DOB/Age 11 October 1993 /32 Hometown/Time Period Stockholm/London / modern Citizenship(s) Swedish/British
Notable Appearance
Height/Build 6'3 / giantesque sylph Hair/Eyes Blonde/blue The first thing anyone notices about Bella is her height. This is both a source of deep frustration to her (admire her for something more than just her genetics) and great power. She knows how it attracts a certain gaze. She stands straight and will wear heels, and if that's just too intimidating to you, you aren't her target audience anyway. She started wearing her hair in different degrees of cut aggressively short a few years ago; her mother has barely recovered from this alleged loss of feminity, but the decreased maintenance alone makes it worth it.
Employment
Job Title Innovator Length of Employment 3 years (1 Internship + 2 Innovator) Partner n/a Housing 2 bedroom with [NAME] Recruitment Equal parts scientific prestige, dad said she couldn't, and grandparents ruffled some feathers and she wants to understand why. Work-related Skills Academically: Double BSc from the University of Oxford in Materials Science and Physics, with a focus on nanostructured materials (final year project: shape-memory microalloys for rapid deployment defense tech); MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London (her focus was nanomedicine and interface delivery systems); PhD from the University of Edinburgh (Adaptive Nanobot Arrays in Contained Conflict Zones). She was developing designs for a modular swarm system when TEA finally approached her. She is an internationally ranked biathlete and enjoys shooting things. Working on weapons systems on a larger-than-nano-scale is her guilty pleasure.
Personality
Positives + intelligent + fearless + loyal
Neutrals = judgy = introverted = driven
Negatives - cold - emotionally immature - unforgiving
Bella is kind of woman with impossible standards she knows no one will ever meet. So she doesn't expect you to; indeed, mostly she doesn't care. She believes herself to be her own fortress on her own island, unbothered and laser-focused, moisturised and flourishing in her own lane. As an upperclass nepo baby, Bella gives the appearance of polish, though she'd rather wield the threat of mutually assured destruction than the sharper menace of charm and diplomacy. True to her Swedish half, she despises small talk, and doesn't necessarily see the point of saying please. And if she somehow finds herself liking you? Congratulations, you are now her responsibility.
History
Family Kristian Forsberg, father. CERN Director-General. Stella de Vaux, mother. Human rights lawyer. Einar, brother. Andreas and Marit Forsberg. Paternal grandparents. Former TEA Innovators who agreed with Caelan Marr's thinking. Defected around the same time Marr did, though they stopped short of becoming Time Bandits themselves (according to the evidence).
Born under hugely weighty expectations: to excel academically, to surpass the success of her parents, to be brilliant, and to never join TEA. When your paternal grandparents leave one of the most advanced research centres under the dark cloud of scandal, it's only natural that one's parents do whatever is in their power to divert their children's interest from the source of great family shame. Bella was born with the entire set of silver cutlery in her grasp. Generational wealth and privilege meant she and her brother (not her twin, but close enough) had access to the best of everything. Not that they were permitted a life of idleness, their parents too high achieving to ever brook lazy, spoilt children. Pocket money was to be earned, beds made, chores attended to. The vast farm in southern Sweden where they spent their summers was theirs to enjoy, but also to maintain. And when school (none other than Institut auf dem Rosenberg) began again and the siblings were sent back to Switzerland, a certain level of academic achievement was expected. None of this, for Bella, was challenging. Well aware of her own intelligence and interests, Bella gravitated towards the sciences. Physics, especially, which pleased her father. It pleased him less when her questions about why they could never see their farfar and farmor became pointed interrogations about why they, brilliant scientists in their own right, were estranged. Kristian simply shut down all questions and tried (failed) to distract his daughter with money, opportunity, and introductions to those in the world of research. A dissatisfied Bella finished high school and went into higher education. First Oxford, then Imperial, and finally Edinburgh, where she obtained her PhD and began her postdoctoral research. Was she mentally stimulated? At times. Did she smart without Einar's immediate presence? Often; his phonecalls to whine about how bored he was were the highlight of her week. As in childhood, she'd give him little projects -- theories she wanted put into practice beyond the confines of her own institution -- and so Einar became her beta tester and prototype guy. And when the unthinkable (to her father, but really, Bella was counting down the days) finally happened and she was headhunted for TEA, Bella hesitated solely on account of her brother. He was her non-negotiable. And now they're here.
